Under current sanctions, the company stressed, there is no way to supply trains to Belarus. At the same time, Stadler underlined that it adheres strictly to all international embargoes and will not soon change its level of cooperation.

Why Stadler Refused Train Deliveries?

Previously, the Belarusian Railway made public its intention to conclude a contract to buy 30 electric trains and 35 diesel trains. But Stadler dismissed those allegations, insisting that it would be impossible to do so under the current sanctions.

As such, the firm will persist in restricting production from its Minsk plant and in failing to supply trains to Belarus until sanctions are removed or global policies altered.

Why did Stadler reject the offer to provide trains to the Belarusian Railway?

Because full sanctions compliance means that under the current political and economic circumstances, it is not possible to deliver shipping equipment to Belarus

Will Stadler restart production in Minsk or won't?

Now Stadler is operating its Minsk factory at reduced capacity. Production can restart only if sanctions are lifted or market conditions change.

Where Stadler in contact with the Belarusian Railway?

Yes, negotiations were underway — but no deal was struck. Compliance with sanctions allows nothing to be delivered, reiterated Stadler.
