Reasons for Stadler’s Delivery Delay

Initially, long-distance electric trains were scheduled to enter service in the summer of 2027. However, the timeline has now shifted, and the new launch date has not yet been announced.

The main reasons for the delay are structural issues and the consequences of a natural disaster. Last summer, the plant of Stadler’s subcontractor, Constellium, was severely damaged.

The flooding resulted in damage to aluminum profiles necessary for train production. The manufacturer has relocated their production to another facility, but the exact location remains undisclosed.

Previously, the Swiss company had already faced natural disasters, which negatively impacted production schedules. In total, the company has reported three similar incidents in recent years.
