Thiruvananthapuram North Transformation Underway

Crews are converting Thiruvananthapuram North into a terminal hub to relieve Central station congestion and support growing regional demand.

They are building a new station structure, installing tactile walkways, adding two elevators, and constructing new platform shelters.

The station already features six bay shelters, elevated platforms, and a water recycling unit.

These additional improvements are expected to be completed within the next month.

Wider Upgrades Across Thiruvananthapuram Region

Authorities plan to divert long-distance services, including trains to Chennai, from Central to North station to reduce traffic.

This shift should improve overall efficiency and streamline operations in the city.

At Neyyattinkara, redevelopment efforts are progressing swiftly, with completion targeted by August.

Simultaneously, Thiruvananthapuram Central is undergoing major upgrades, including new facilities and a modern passenger concourse.

Platform extensions and additional seating have already been delivered at Kazhakkoottam station.

Pettah has also seen facility upgrades, while modernization continues at Amaravila, Dhanuvachapuram, Balaramapuram, and Parassala.
