TransMontana 061 became the 4th asynchronous locomotive manufactured by Softronic Craiova in the fleet of the private freight rail operator Cargo Trans Vagon after TM 007, 011 and 051.

It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Softtronic. Last week Softtronic Craiova carried out final tests with 061 on the already classic route Cernele – Craiova – Bucharest Baneasa – Constanta and back, 880 km were covered without unforeseen technical problems, the test was a success.

TransMontana 062 becomes the eighth locomotive purchased by EP-Rail from Softtronic Craiova between 2018 and 2022.

Thus, EP-Rail became the second client of Softtronic Craiova in Romania after DB Cargo, which owns and/or leases at least 20 asynchronous locomotives from Softtronic and will buy 2 more units in 2022. This is probably the most interesting year in the 23 years since the creation of Softtronic Craiova in terms of customers who purchase Craiova-made traction rolling stock.

The next buyer waiting for their locomotives is the United Railways (Bulmarket Bulgaria), which will buy the 063 and 064 series locomotives. In 2022 and 2023, Softtronic Craiova operates almost in a closed mode, the next 18 locomotives that will roll off the assembly line have already been contracted.
