14.06.2024
At the Rail Business Days exhibition and conference held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, from June 11 to 13, 2024, Škoda Group presented its new innovative product — the first battery-electric single-deck train of the RegioPanter family, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This train will be used in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic, particularly on routes with non-electrified sections, replacing outdated diesel trains.
Technical Specifications and Features
The two-car RegioPanter train features a low-floor design, ensuring easier boarding and alighting for passengers.
Three traction battery modules are mounted on the roofs of the cars.
Ukrzaliznytsia has already produced 70 medical wagons on its own
The train has the following dimensions: length — 52.9 meters, width — 2820 mm, height — 4260 mm.
It is equipped with four traction motors, each with a power of 340 kW, allowing speeds of up to 160 km/h under the catenary and up to 120 km/h on battery power.
Capacity and Passenger Amenities
The RegioPanter has 140 seats, including eight first-class seats, and can accommodate a total of up to 323 passengers.
The train includes areas for two wheelchair users, nine bicycles, and four strollers, making it convenient for passengers with diverse needs.
It is also equipped with a video surveillance system, the European Train Control System (ETCS), and Automatic Train Operation (ATO), ensuring high levels of safety and comfort.
Environmental Friendliness and Innovation
A particularly important aspect of the new train is its environmental friendliness.
The battery-electric range is 80 km, allowing it to operate on non-electrified sections without emitting harmful substances into the atmosphere.
This is an important step towards reducing the carbon footprint and improving the environmental situation in the region.
Škoda Group’s Experience and Achievements
The development of this train was made possible by Škoda Group’s many years of experience in manufacturing rolling stock with traction batteries.
The company previously supplied battery-equipped tram cars to the Turkish cities of Konya and Eskişehir.
In addition, Škoda Group actively develops and manufactures electric buses and trolleybuses with traction batteries, supplying them to various European countries.

The presentation of the first battery-electric train of the RegioPanter family at the Rail Business Days exhibition was a significant event in the transport industry.
This train not only represents a technological breakthrough but also marks a significant step towards more environmentally friendly and efficient rail transport. Škoda Group continues to demonstrate its innovative capabilities and commitment to improving the quality of life by offering modern solutions for sustainable transport infrastructure development.
