According to a statement by Siemens Mobility’s CEO, Michael Peter, the new electric trains will be based on the Mireo platform solution, which was developed by the company and first introduced in 2016.
The Mireo platform includes a range of suburban and regional electric trains with aluminum bodies, which contribute to improved design and a 25% reduction in energy consumption.
