Siemens Mobility to Deliver 14 Avenio Trams to Nuremberg

Siemens Mobility will deliver 14 additional Avenio trams to Nuremberg. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The deal is worth €67 million and is an option under the 2019 framework contract, which included up to 87 four-section trams. Previously, 26 trams were ordered, and now the city will receive 14 more units.

New Avenio Trams for Nuremberg
The new Avenio trams will fully meet the latest safety and environmental standards. These trams are highly energy-efficient and feature spacious passenger cabins with advanced control systems. Unlike traditional models, Avenio offers lower operating costs and greater resistance to external impacts.
Modernizing Nuremberg’s Public Transport
This purchase is an important part of modernizing public transportation in Nuremberg. According to the contract, deliveries will begin in 2028, allowing the city to gradually update its tram fleet and improve passenger services.
