Siemens Mobility and the New Sydney Metro Project

This prototype visually demonstrates the interior of future trains, helping to gather public feedback. The company considers expert opinions on materials, lighting, and passenger information systems.

The train features large windows, a spacious cabin, and wide doors for faster boarding. Special zones for luggage, wheelchairs, and strollers are also included.

The project is being carried out by the Parklife Metro consortium under the leadership of Siemens Mobility. It is the first metro project in Australia implemented through a public-private partnership.

Siemens Mobility Technologies in the New Metro

The contract includes 12 autonomous trains and digital infrastructure for the metro line. It covers signaling systems, communication, power supply, platform doors, and maintenance services.

Siemens Mobility is also integrating Railigent X, an innovative system for train operation and infrastructure management. The company’s share in the project amounts to €900 million.
