The first of these trains is undergoing testing in Germany, with plans to send it to British soil for further checks later this year. The new trains are scheduled to be put into operation by 2025.

This contract will not only provide London with modern trains but also be a significant event for British industry.

Siemens Mobility is investing over £200 million in the construction of a new factory in Goole, UK, which will create 700 new manufacturing jobs and an additional 1,700 in supply chains. The factory’s opening is expected this spring.

This move will significantly reduce production time and costs for Siemens Mobility, as up to 80% of the trains will be assembled directly in the UK.

This represents a significant improvement compared to previous plans, where only half of the trains were intended to be produced in the UK, with the rest in Austria.

Thus, the collaboration between London and Siemens Mobility becomes not only an important step in modernizing the transportation system but also a sign of the development of British industry.
