Siemens has announced an investment of $60 million to build a high-speed train manufacturing plant in northern New York State.
Strikes at the Port of Hamburg Paralyze Train Operations: Delays Exceed 24 Hours
The plant, located in Horseheads, will cover 300,000 square feet and will be the first facility of its kind in the U.S. to produce high-speed trains.
It is expected that the plant will create around 300 jobs and become a key element in the development of high-speed rail transport in the country.
The primary product of the facility will be the American Pioneer 220 trains, which will serve the Las Vegas–Southern California route.
The operator of this line is Brightline West, a company that is actively developing infrastructure for high-speed passenger transportation in the region.
The construction of the plant is scheduled to be completed by 2026, and it will play a crucial role in establishing a new transportation network between major cities on the U.S. West Coast.
This project opens a new chapter in the history of U.S. transportation infrastructure.
According to Michael Peter, CEO of Siemens Mobility, the launch of the plant will be the first step towards creating high-speed railroads on the American continent.
The introduction of such advanced trains will significantly enhance the country’s transportation capabilities and improve passenger comfort.
Siemens Mobility has already established itself as one of the leaders in transport technologies, and the new plant is part of their strategy to expand their presence in the North American market.
The company actively supports infrastructure development projects in the U.S., and the new plant will become an integral part of this program.
The implementation of high-speed railroads could significantly reduce travel times between key cities, making this mode of transport attractive to passengers looking to avoid long car trips or flights.
