This line, connecting Mecca and Medina, was launched in 2018 and is serviced by Spanish Talgo trains. The agreement with the Spanish company Indra Sistemas aims to create joint research and development centers in Saudi Arabia.

These centers will drive the digital transformation of the country’s railway industry.

Meanwhile, the cooperation with the Italian group Salcef focuses on developing sustainable track maintenance technologies considering the region’s challenging climate conditions.

SAR also became the first non-European member of the EULYNX consortium, which is dedicated to standardizing railway automation systems.

By joining this project, the company strengthens its position in the global market, opening new prospects for the implementation of advanced technologies.

Additionally, SAR held partnership negotiations with companies such as Hitachi Rail, Stadler, Wabtec, Progress Rail, and Vossloh, further solidifying its position on the global stage.
