Samruk-Kazyna to Receive a Budget Loan for Carriage Purchase

The investment holding “Samruk-Kazyna” plans to purchase passenger carriages worth 65.5 billion tenge. For this purpose, a loan will be allocated from the Republican budget of Kazakhstan.

This initiative is included in the draft budget for 2025-2027, highlighting the importance of updating the rolling stock for the country.

Additionally, the 2025 budget provides for the subsidization of credit and leasing rates for the purchase of carriages and containers in the amount of 20 billion tenge.

Such support is aimed at stimulating purchases and renewing the transport fleet in Kazakhstan, which is one of the government’s key tasks.

In May 2024, the General Director of JSC “Passenger Transportation,” Zhanibek Tayzhanov, noted that by 2030, Kazakhstan plans to acquire more than 700 passenger carriages.

This ambitious goal includes the delivery of 140 new carriages of Kazakhstani production for the needs of KTZ (Kazakhstan Temir Zholy).

Starting from 2025, deliveries of 537 carriages manufactured by Stadler are also expected.

These initiatives aim to improve the quality and efficiency of passenger transportation.

The new carriages are expected to enhance passenger comfort levels and ensure the safety and reliability of transportation.

Investments in updating the rolling stock underscore Kazakhstan’s commitment to modernizing its transport infrastructure and improving travel conditions for citizens throughout the country.

Thus, the allocation of budget funds and subsidies for the acquisition of new carriages reflects Kazakhstan’s strategy to develop the railway sector and provide a high level of transport services.
