SacRT Begins Construction on Dos Rios Light Rail Station in Sacramento

SacRT has officially started building Dos Rios Light Rail Station to enhance transit access. Located on North 12th Street, the station will connect the River District and Mirasol Village. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Project Funding and Timeline
The project received funding from multiple sources, ensuring its timely completion. Transformative Climate Communities contributed $17.6 million, while Senate Bill 125 added another $10 million.

Additional support includes $2.5 million from TIRCP Cycle 7 and $1 million from a Congressional Directed Spending Request. A $9.5 million USDOT RAISE grant further supports infrastructure improvements.
Construction is scheduled to begin this summer, with completion expected by the end of 2026. Officials emphasize that the new station will modernize transit and promote economic development.

SacRT General Manager Henry Li highlighted the project’s role in improving accessibility. He noted that better transportation will create economic opportunities and boost regional mobility.
“This station connects residents to jobs, education, and essential services,” Li stated. He also credited state, federal, and local partnerships for making this project possible.
SacRT leaders believe the station aligns with Sacramento’s broader transit expansion goals. City officials expect benefits for commuters, businesses, and the local economy.
