Rajdhani Express coach fire in Ratlam leaves no casualties

A Rajdhani Express coach fire was reported early Sunday in Ratlam district. The AC coach was on the Delhi-bound Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin train as it passed through Madhya Pradesh. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The blaze started at about 5.15 am in coach B-1 of train no. 12431. The coach was carrying 68 passengers, as ET Infra reported, citing senior railways commercial manager Sourbah Jain. Also, officials said there were no casualties.
Fire reported in B-1 AC coach
PRO Mukesh Kumar of the Ratlam division said the incident took place between Vikramgarh Alot and Lunirichha stations. The stations fall under the Kota division of the railways.
The affected coach was separated from the rake as a safety measure. Also, the overhead electric supply was quickly switched off. Kumar said the fire was later doused.
Meanwhile, all passengers were deboarded from the train after the incident. Kota railway PRO Ravindera Lakhara told PTI that none of them sustained injuries.
Passengers accommodated for onward journey
Officials said arrangements had been made for the onward journey to Kota in Rajasthan. At the same time, the passengers were to be accommodated in other coaches.
Separately, the train was likely to reach Kota station at around 11 am. Also, an additional coach was to be attached there to restore full capacity.
In addition, the Divisional Railway Manager of Ratlam reached the site. An accident relief train also arrived there, Kumar said.
Still, railway officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
