Rail Vision’s obstacle detection system will be implemented on one of the main lines in Israel, thanks to a contract signed between Israel Railways (IR) and Rail Vision, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Railway Obstacle Detection System

This step became possible after the successful testing of 10 onboard equipment sets of the Main Line system costing $1.4 million, which IR acquired in early 2023.

The Main Line system is capable of promptly identifying potential threats on and near the track, as well as monitoring the condition of railway infrastructure to anticipate possible issues and optimize operational processes.

In January 2024, Rail Vision received certification for the Main Line system according to European railway standards and announced the development of a new onboard computer with artificial intelligence features.

Additionally, besides the Main Line system, the Israeli company Rail Vision has developed and supplies the Switch Yard system for obstacle detection during maneuvers.

This significant event opens up new prospects for enhancing the safety and efficiency of railway transportation in Israel.
