The alliance also includes CPB Contractors, UGL, SMEC, and WSP. They will collaborate with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads and Queensland Rail.

The project aims to increase capacity and enhance the reliability of transportation between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. This is especially important ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Queensland invests $3.64 billion in railway development

The project includes the reconstruction of the two-track section from Kuraby to Beenleigh, converting it to a four-track section. It also involves improving station accessibility, including building intercept parking lots and designated parking areas for vehicles.

The project will eliminate level crossings, introduce the European Train Control System (ETCS), and enhance local road networks and the condition of cycling and pedestrian paths along a 20-kilometer corridor.

Earlier, contracts were signed with the Martinus Degnan consortium to build the new Loganlea station and Bielby Hull to eliminate the level crossing in Kuraby. The total project cost is $3.64 billion at the current exchange rate.

This project will be an important step in modernizing the region’s transport system and ensuring efficient mobility during the Olympic Games.
