However, since the automated control network is still not stable, only 18 trains are being operated manually. On the other hand, 40 free shuttle buses are connecting commuters between key stations. Passengers have been urged to check updates before making journeys.

Amir Hamdan, Prasarana Malaysia Bhd President and Group CEO, said that the break-in made weaknesses of public infrastructure apparent and that the main priority remains safety and ensuring a continuous provision of services. Passengers can continue to get information on a real-time basis.

Putrajaya MRT Security Concerns Prompt Legal Action

According to the authorities, Malaysia has almost reached 50 cases of cable theft in 2025; this is doubled compared to last year. This activity affects not only the rail services but the country’s power and communication system as well.

Amir described the trend as alarming since it can erode public confidence and disrupt modernization efforts. Amir stated that Prasarana has filed a police report and cooperated with the current investigation into the incident.

Passengers can expect limited services due to the approaching 47th ASEAN Summit. This was stated by the CEO of the LRTC, who also urged the government to adopt stricter penalties for infringing activities of the country’s vital infrastructure. Passengers are encouraged to take alternative routes if needed due to the increased congestion.

Rapid KL remains to date with travel information updates on its social media accounts, which help commuters plan their journeys effectively while resuming full operations.
