The locomotives from this order are scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2027.
These electric locomotives, with a maximum power of 6.4 MW, can reach a top speed of either 160 or 200 km/h.
This order is based on a framework agreement signed by the companies in December 2021.
Under this agreement, Akiem had already ordered 20 electric locomotives from Siemens Mobility in December 2021 and an additional 65 locomotives in August of the following year. With this new order, Akiem will expand its fleet of Vectron electric locomotives to 100 units.
Previously, 15 multisystem Vectron locomotives were ordered by the Belgian freight operator MEDWAY Belgium NV.
As of now, Siemens Mobility has sold over 1800 Vectron locomotives to 66 customers in 16 countries.
Locomotives based on the Vectron platform have received certificates for operation in 20 European countries.
