Porterbrook and GB Railfreight have ordered 50 Greenbrier wagons

Porterbrook and GB Railfreight intend to expand the freight capacity of the UK by ordering 50 new wagons manufactured by Greenbrier, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Porterbrook and GB Railfreight have entered into an agreement for the production and procurement of 50 new covered wagons manufactured by Greenbrier.

The deal signifies continued investment in the rail freight sector in addition to the existing 100 intermodal twin wagons and 50 covered wagons delivered to the UK rail network since 2022.

The new wagons, scheduled to arrive in the UK in the third quarter of 2024, will replace outdated rolling stock and increase the country’s railway capacity.

In support of the expected growth in freight transport in the construction sector, GB Railfreight will use these wagons to transport bulk construction materials.
