Polish company SIM Factor will supply simulators for drivers training
At the end of 2020 SIM Factor signed a framework agreement with Austrian Railways ÖBB for the design, construction and installation of two fully functional simulators to train drivers to drive Siemens Vectron electric locomotives and Cityjet passenger trains. This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to nakolei.pl.

The project involves the construction of state-of-the-art railway simulators in Austria. The project will include not only two fully functional simulators based on the 6dof platform (6 degrees of freedom of movement in three-dimensional space), but also a number of other modern technologies, such as high-definition 4K imaging, and an eye tracking system.
It is noted that ÖBB has been using simulators to train its employees for over 20 years.
The collaboration between SIM Factor and the ÖBB comes with a 5-year service and support agreement.
The simulators will be installed at the new training center in Sankt Pölten in the first quarter of 2022.
