Poland invests over $350 million in railway projects

Poland will start large-scale railway projects worth $350 million in 2025. The country plans a series of tenders under the FEnIKS program, co-financed by the European Union. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Operator PKP PLK will launch bids to modernize infrastructure in several regions. The works are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with a total budget exceeding $350 million.

Poland to modernize Wrocław rail hub
The project will upgrade the Wrocław-Psie Pole — Wrocław-Sołtysowice section, renew tracks and platforms, and implement advanced traffic control systems. The investment, worth $47.5 million, aims to increase network capacity and optimize train flow.

Poland invests in projects in Silesia and Toruń
In the Silesian Voivodeship, PKP PLK will reconstruct the Tychy — Bieruń Stary section. The plan includes new stops and upgraded level crossings. These improvements will raise train speeds to 120 km/h, with a project cost exceeding $130.5 million.
Another major initiative will focus on the Toruń Główny — Toruń Wschodni line. Crews will modernize tracks and platforms and restore the historic Ernest Malinowski Bridge built in 1873. A pedestrian and cycling path will be added, while stations will be adapted for passengers with reduced mobility. The budget reaches $171.25 million.
The FEnIKS program continues Poland’s sustainable development strategy. Its total budget exceeds $28.25 billion, with $22.75 billion provided by EU funds. Investments target transport infrastructure, energy projects, and environmental improvements to boost competitiveness and quality of life.
