Ukrzaliznytsia and Kryukovsky Railcar Building Plant signed an agreement for the supply of 100 passenger cars. 

For the first time in the history of Ukraine, the purchase of this batch of rolling stock will be carried out for budgetary funds. This was announced by the acting Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Ivan Yurik.

The first batch, at least 20 units, will be delivered by the end of this year, informs Railway Supply magazine referring to CFTS.

Under the contract KVSZ is to build and supply to Ukrzaliznytsia 51 compartment cars, 12 1st class  sleeping cars, 20 compartment cars equipped for the transportation of disabled passengers in a wheelchair, as well as 17 compartment cars for the transportation of passengers with disabilities in a wheelchair with compartment of the head of the train.

KVSZ reduced the production of freight cars by more than 60%

UZ entered into a contract with the Kryukovsky Railcar Building Plant, after the first unsuccessful tender, for a total of UAH 3.044 billion, where only KVSZ was allowed to participate.
