PKP CARGO Connect launches permanent connection to Duisburg
21.07.2021
PKP CARGO CONNECT opens a permanent intermodal service on the Poznan – Duisburg route. This allows goods to be shipped to other countries, including the British Isles.

The ongoing cooperation between PKP CARGO CONNECT (of the PKP CARGO group) and Duisport Agency (a company of the DUISBURGER HAFEN AG group) has led to the launch of a permanent intermodal service on the Poznan – Duisburg route, reports Railway Supply magazine.
Over the years, Duisport Agency Polska has been consistently developing an intermodal transport network for the transport of semi-trailers and containers between the world’s largest inland port in Duisburg and terminals in Poland. Duisburg serves more than 100 intermodal connections in Europe, which allows goods to be transported also to other parts of Europe after transshipment at this port. One of them is the UK, which is the target region for many PKP CARGO CONNECT clients.
LTG Cargo will renew its wagon fleet: it will carry more grain and intermodal cargo
Permanent intermodal service on the Poznan – Duisburg route currently operates 4 times a week from the PKP CARGO CONNECT terminal in Poznan Franowo with the possibility of increasing the frequency to 6 train pairs per week in the next 3 months.
The train on this route is equipped with container platforms, wagons for transporting intermodal trailers and a Cargo Beamer system for transporting standard semi-trailers not adapted for rail transport at the factory.
