The manufacturer became the only participant in the purchases organized by the city carrier St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise Gorelektrotrans. 54 two-section trams 71-923M Bogatyr M and three three-section trams 71-931M Vityaz M are expected to be delivered by the end of November 2023.

During the auction, the purchase price did not change and amounted to more than 6.9 billion rubles. The first six trams should be handed over to the customer by the end of May this year, reports Railway Supply magazine, citing tzdjournal.

At the end of January, an agreement was reached to provide St. Petersburg with an infrastructure loan in the amount of 24.2 billion rubles. The funds should also be used to upgrade the city tram fleet.

So, over the next two years, it is planned to purchase 169 tram cars. The city will receive 9.7 billion rubles for these purposes in 2022,  and 14.5 billion rubles in 2023.
