Pimpama Station Opens to Transform Gold Coast Rail Travel
20.10.2025
The new station opened to the public, providing 90 weekday and 70 weekend train services and revolutionizing transport connectivity across the fast-growing Gold Coast corridor at South East Queensland.
This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Pimpama Station Strengthens Regional Connectivity
The facility has 380 car park bays, 40-cycle lock-up, lifts serving both platforms, and passenger safety-oriented pedestrian bridge. Since accessibility is also paramount, the station itself has braille maps, hearing loops, and ten accessible space bays for the disabled.

The passengers are served with well-lit zones, CCTV surveillance, and bright digital displays that promote comfort and security. And with the fact that the station is an integral part of the local buses, transfers to the rail-bus service are now swifter and easier.
Pimpama Station Enhances Queensland Rail’s Network
Queensland Rail Chief Executive Officer Kat Stapleton boarded passengers and declared the opening to be a “major milestone in connecting communities” for the state. Trains, she explained, were to run every ten minutes at peak times and every thirty minutes at off-peak times.
Timings are now also variably delayed to permit arriving Brisbane-bound trains to come two minutes earlier, and Brisbane-bound trains to leave marginally later. These refinements give tighter co-ordination and fewer delays.
Work is progressing on two further Gold Coast stations, namely Hope Island and Merrimac, under the state’s overall plan to increase capacity and connectivity. Cumulatively, these are reinforcing regional linkages and facilitating the growing population influx to the Gold Coast from Brisbane.
Therefore, Pimpama Station not only enhances transportation efficacy but is also responsible for sustainable economic progress. It represents the commitment to long-term rail infrastructure investing and Queensland’s future-oriented, environmentally friendly, and connected society.
