The first of five new Swing trams that the city acquired in 2020 arrived in Torun (Poland).

This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Pesa.

The contract for the supply of five new trams was signed on July 21, 2020. The supplier is PESA from Bydgoszcz. It was selected through a tender. The order value is approximately € 10.1 million.

Pesa to supply 25 Swing trams to Sofia

According to the contract, delivery was planned within 24 months from the date of signing. The first Swings were supposed to arrive in Torun next March, but they arrived about three months earlier than planned.

The new Swing, like four other trams currently in different stages of production, is adapted for the transport of people with disabilities, five-section, with a completely low floor, non-slip carpet, air conditioning, video surveillance, trip computer and WiFi. It includes USB charging ports, ticket machines, voice and visual stop announcements, a passenger counting system and advertising displays. Its length is 30 meters.
