Changsha – Yiyang High-Speed Line Opened

The 64.2 km long Changsha-Yiyang section of the Chongqing-Xiamen high-speed rail line opened in early September, reports Railway Supply magazine citing the Railway Gazette.
Construction of the railway line began in December 2017. The Changyi section includes three stations at Changsha Xi, Ningxiang Xi and Yiyang Nan. Trains will be able to move along it at a speed of 350 km/h.

The opening cut travel time from Changsha to Yiyang by more than half, from 70 minutes to 31 minutes.
The next section of Yichang is scheduled to open in June 2023. This will extend the line by another 92.8 km from Yiyang Nan to Changde.
