Operational Testing of Locomotive with ETCS

Softronic from Romania is preparing for operational testing of its first locomotive equipped with ETCS, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.
The electric locomotive of the LEMA series, also known as TransMontana v3.2, was produced for the European freight carrier LTE Logistics as part of a contract for the supply of five such machines by 2025, which was signed last year.
Newag will supply electric locomotives
This electric locomotive became the first product of the company equipped with the ETCS train control system developed by the French company Thales.
In July of this year, the locomotive received a certificate of compliance with the TSI standards of the European Union, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.
TransMontana v3.2 is equipped with six asynchronous electric motors with a total power of 6 MW.
It can operate on both 25 kV and 15 kV AC lines.
The maximum speed of this electric locomotive is 120 km/h.
