New CITYLINK Tram-Train for the Neckar-Alb Region: Unique Design and High Technology

The Stadtbahn Neckar-Alb regional association in Baden-Württemberg has unveiled the new design of the CITYLINK tram-trains ordered from Stadler, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The external design of the new rolling stock was developed by Tricorn.

These three-section vehicles combine tram and train functions, allowing them to reach speeds of up to 100 km/h.

They are equipped with modern power systems: they can operate on both 750 V DC used on tram lines and 15 kV AC at 16.7 Hz used on railway tracks.

This hybrid approach ensures the efficiency and versatility of the tram-trains in various transport systems within the Neckar-Alb region.

The new vehicle is intended to enhance transportation services and increase passenger comfort.
