This week, two two-car trains, powered by contact and battery traction, began transporting employees at the facility located in Berlin-Brandenburg.

These trains operate as a single unit, making regular daily trips.

Tesla’s factory is now connected to the final station of Berlin’s urban railway (S-Bahn) by a new route approximately five kilometers long.

Previously, this section of the line was serviced by two diesel trains of the Talent model, produced by Bombardier Transportation.

However, last year, Tesla acquired the rights to operate this line as part of the company’s strategy to transition to more environmentally friendly modes of transport.

The new Mireo Plus B trains feature significant autonomy. Under normal operating conditions, their range reaches 120 kilometers.

The interior space of the two-car train is designed for 120 seated passengers, with a total capacity of up to 500 passengers, making them suitable for corporate transportation.

The contract for the supply of Mireo Plus B trains was signed with the carrier NEB and was one of the first in the portfolio of Smart Train Lease, a new leasing company created by Siemens Mobility in February of this year.

This model has already proven itself in Germany, first entering service in Baden-Württemberg, where 27 such units were ordered.

The Tesla and Siemens Mobility project demonstrates the companies’ commitment to introducing innovative and environmentally friendly solutions in the rail transport market.
