The new train retains the main features of its predecessor, including the GoA2 level automatic train operation system, with the potential to upgrade to fully autonomous GoA4 operation.

However, the key improvement is the increased passenger capacity, which now accommodates 1,282 people.

According to the official statement from Railway Gazette, the train’s maximum design speed reaches 250 km/h, although this information has not been confirmed by other sources.

The manufacturer claims that the new streamlined body shape has reduced aerodynamic drag by 5% compared to the existing train fleet in China.

This, in turn, is expected to positively impact overall energy efficiency.

Additionally, the train features permanent magnet motors and special aluminum alloys, reducing energy consumption by 15%.

Significant attention has also been paid to reducing operational costs.

With the introduction of a component monitoring system, as well as the use of oil-free compressors and air-cooled traction transformers, maintenance costs are expected to decrease by 30%.

It’s important to note that 95% of the materials used in the train’s production are recyclable.
