Boom in the European Passenger Locomotive Market: Forecasts and Prospects
The construction of the new container terminal will be a significant step in developing the region’s transport infrastructure, as it will facilitate container shipping between Baku Port and Georgian ports.
This, in turn, will provide more efficient and faster cargo delivery for international carriers.
Baku Port, an important part of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, spans an area of 400 hectares and is located 70 km from the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.
The port includes 13 berths that accommodate Ro-Ro ships, ferries, and serve as a terminal for general cargo.
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, of which Baku Port is a part, plays a key role in connecting Europe and Asia.
It links China and Central Asia with Europe, passing through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
The development of Baku Port’s infrastructure, particularly the construction of the new container terminal, will enhance throughput capacity and expedite the cargo delivery process along this route.
Container shipping is one of the most in-demand forms of freight transportation worldwide due to its efficiency and ability to transport large volumes of goods.
The new terminal in Baku will contribute to increasing the volume of container shipping, which will positively impact the region’s economy and enhance its attractiveness to international logistics companies.
It is important to note that the construction of the terminal will also positively impact the development of trade relations between the countries in the region.
Improving transport infrastructure will reduce travel time and shipping costs, making the region more competitive on the international stage.
Thus, the project to build a new container terminal at Baku Port is a strategically important step for developing the region’s transport network and strengthening international trade ties.
In the coming years, significant increases in shipping volumes and improvements in the regional economic situation can be expected, made possible by the implementation of this ambitious project.
