MIU sent a draft order on limiting the service life of freight cars for approval by the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine
08.11.2021
On October 25, the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine received for approval a draft order of the Ministry of Infrastructure “On approval of the Procedure for a complex of diagnostic, repair and registration operations aimed at extending the service life of freight cars.”
The project provides for a gradual limitation of the maximum service life and the terms of extension of the operation of some types of cars. MIU released the document on October 8 for discussion, which should end on November 8, reports the railway magazine Railway Supply.
The ministry believes that the implementation of the draft order will contribute to the renewal of the railway freight car fleet, support the wagon-building industry of Ukraine, improve the safety in railway transport and preserve the railway infrastructure.
