The Ministry of Defense of Poland Invests €100 Million in Rolling Stock

The Ministry of Defense of Poland will allocate €100 million for the purchase of railway rolling stock. This investment will support the modernization of the logistics system and PKP Cargo. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Advisor to the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Edward Gruszka, specified that the funds will be used to purchase locomotives, platforms, and six-axle wagons. They will be utilized for transporting military equipment. Additionally, PKP Cargo will invest 280 million złoty (€70 million) in upgrading military railway infrastructure.

EU Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas previously stated the need to enhance military mobility. He emphasized that modernizing the EU railway network will simplify the movement of military cargo.
