A Historic Start for the MF19 Metro

The MF19 was designed by joint partnership with RATP and Île-de-France Mobilités’ Alstom. The train is a completely financed, French-made train that symbolizes the future of suburbian mobility. The fleet will progressively replace three generations’ worth of rolling stocks along eight lines of the metro, with improvements for performance, sustainability, and accessibility.

The passengers now enjoy cooled ventilation, ergonomic seating, USB ports, and LED lighting. The comfort is designed to come first, but it is also enhanced with wide doors, special areas for passengers with lowered mobility, and clear digital displays for up-to-date informations.

How the MF19 Metro Redefines Efficiency?

The MF19 train was designed to be adaptable. The four-car or five-car configuration train can change easily to suit passenger demand. With the fact that both automatic and driver-assisted mode are provided with the system, the train allows for future upgrade flexibility to run the train.

To increase safety and reliability, Alstom incorporated its state-of-the-art CBTC-based on-board speed control system, to RATP’s Octys standard. The innovation enables accurate train speed and position control, leading to delayed reduction and network efficiency optimization. The first to avail is Line 10, with further lines to follow.

Over 2,300 Alstom staff at eight French locations worked to build the train. Valenciennes, Le Creusot, Tarbes, and Villeurbanne facilities took care of design, assembly, traction, and digital systems. Since production volumes are further increasing, production at Valenciennes increased with the addition of a second, newly constructed gathering and transportation system.

The MF19 shows the French ability to innovate sustainable mobility. It brings together decades of expertise in train production with foresight technology that enhances comfort, accessibility, and reliability for millions of users.
