LTG Link ticketing system sets a new rail standard
02.06.2026
LTG Link ticketing system will be upgraded in the second half of this year, with Lithuania’s passenger rail operator preparing changes to ticket sales, its website and its mobile app.

The work will be carried out with Estonian technology company Turnit. In the official LTG announcement, the operator says the project is meant to make journey planning and ticket purchasing simpler, while giving passengers a travel experience aligned with international standards.
“We want to grow alongside our passengers, not only in Lithuania but also in the international market. That is why we are investing in technological solutions that will provide a modern and convenient travel experience. Our goal is to make rail journeys seamless, from ticket purchase to the final destination, both within Lithuania and beyond its borders,” said Kristina Meidė, Chief Executive of LTG Link.
LTG Link ticketing system to support international rail tickets
The upgraded platform will allow LTG Link to connect its ticketing system with railway operators in other countries. For passengers, that should make it easier to plan and buy international rail tickets through one digital channel.
Passengers going to destinations such as Poland may currently have to use separate booking platforms for different parts of the same journey. Once the new system is in place, they will be able to manage the full trip through the LTG Link website or mobile app.
“LTG Link is the most progressive passenger rail operator in the region, with a clear vision of what modern rail transport should look like. Their commitment to seamless cross-border mobility will benefit passengers across Europe. We are proud to contribute to this transformation,” said Ülo Säre, Chief Executive Officer of Turnit.
LTG Link digital channels will add more mobility services
The new platform will also support integration with local transport services, including buses, ride-sharing providers and car rental companies. This could help passengers combine rail with other parts of their journey more easily.
The upgrade will also bring additional services, including parking space reservations. At the same time, LTG Link digital channels will receive new user features across both the website and mobile application.
Planned functions include biometric authentication, Apple Pay and Google Pay payment options, and enhanced user functionality. Turnit describes its platform as a technology product for passenger transport operators that need route, inventory, reservation and distribution management.
European Open Sales and Distribution Model in rail digitalisation
The implementation of the European Open Sales and Distribution Model is regarded as an important step in the digitalisation of rail transport. UIC describes OSDM as a rail sector specification for interoperable ticket sales across trains and other modes of transport.
For passengers, the wider significance lies in simpler cross-border travel. For operators, the model supports better technical compatibility between booking systems, which is central to the future of seamless international rail travel.
