LTG Infra, responsible for Lithuania’s railway infrastructure, the electricity transmission system operator Litgrid AB, and RB Rail AS | Rail Baltica have entered into a collaboration agreement to prepare the electricity transmission networks for connection to the traction substations of the Rail Baltica project.

The agreement enables the preparation of the electricity transmission network for electrifying the European railway line Rail Baltica.

Litgrid is expected to prepare 5 locations for integrating Rail Baltica traction substations into the existing network.

“This agreement is significant as it establishes collaboration principles, allowing simultaneous preparation for the next crucial phase of the project – electrification, while railway construction is still underway,” noted Vytis Zalimas, CEO of LTG Infra.
