LTG Group and Ukrzaliznytsia will develop the intermodal route Klaipeda-Kyiv

Ukrzaliznytsia and LTG Group have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen international cooperation and develop a joint international intermodal route Klaipeda-Kyiv through the territory of Poland, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
In the agreement, the railway carriers of both countries have agreed to jointly coordinate the project and allocate the necessary funds and resources for its competitive implementation.

It is planned that the first test runs of the intermodal freight route will be carried out this year, with regular freight transport along the route in the future.
«We see Ukraine and the Ukrainian Railways as our strategic partners in ensuring uninterrupted movement of goods between our countries and expanding export and import opportunities through the Klaipeda port between Ukraine and Scandinavia. We support Ukraine in its efforts to develop alternative logistics solutions and increase the competitiveness of businesses in both countries in the region,»- noted LTG Group CEO Egidijus Lazauskas.
The companies have agreed to analyze the market potential, prepare the necessary technological and operational solutions, and develop a specific action plan to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
