LTG Cargo Polska leases wagons from Ermewa

Ermewa has established its first successful partnership with LTG Cargo Polska for the lease of 40 container wagons, which were delivered to Poprad, Slovakia, according to the railway portal Railway Supply.

All the new Sgmmnss wagons were manufactured at the Tratravagonka factory in Poprad.

LTG Cargo will primarily use the 40-foot wagons in Northern Europe on the route from Lithuania through Gdansk, Poland, to Duisburg, Germany.

This collaboration is a valuable addition to LTG Cargo’s existing fleet.

“We are pleased to start this partnership with Ermewa as it allows us to further strengthen our intermodal capabilities and meet the growing demands of our customers. The addition of these 40 container wagons from Ermewa enhances our operational efficiency and enables us to increase the volume of our freight services in multiple directions,” said Michal Schlendak, General Director of LTG Cargo Polska.

Starting this month, the railway operator provides regular intermodal freight services on the Kaunas-Slawkow route.

Previously, cargo was transported to the terminal in Poland only on customer demand, and the company was able to offer services twice a week in just six months.

Additionally, to strengthen railway connections with Poland, customers will be able to transport goods to the Pruskow terminal located just outside Warsaw. Trains on the Kaunas-Slawkow route will now make an intermediate stop near the Polish capital.

LTG Cargo is an operator of intermodal freight transport both in Lithuania and Poland. Each train can transport up to 42 containers and 90 TEUs of cargo per trip.

The Slawkow terminal, located near Katowice, is an important Polish hub for broad-gauge railways, connecting railway lines between Lithuania and Poland, as well as Ukraine and Poland.

From this terminal, freight trains also regularly operate to Schwarzheide in Germany, Madaloni in Italy, Koper Port in Slovenia, and Gdansk Port in Poland.
