The team also includes ACCIONA, SMEC, and WSP, working together with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads and Queensland Rail. Their goal is to complete all critical planning before the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

By expanding the existing tracks from Kuraby to Beenleigh, the project will reduce congestion and increase frequency. The 20-kilometre stretch will benefit from upgraded stations, improved accessibility, and modern rail systems.

Additionally, the initiative includes the removal of level crossings and upgrades to park-and-ride, kiss-and-ride, and local bus facilities. It will also enhance cycling and pedestrian routes along the corridor.

Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail to Improve Commuter Travel

The project will significantly boost public transport capacity between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. It also lays the groundwork for a future European Train Control System.

CPB Contractors Managing Director Jason Spears stated that the team will rely on its strong local partnerships and infrastructure expertise to deliver the work efficiently. He emphasized the benefits to both residents and Queensland’s tourism economy.

UGL Managing Director Doug Moss noted UGL’s leadership in large-scale infrastructure and its readiness to meet the region’s growing transit needs. The rail upgrade aligns with long-term goals for sustainable and accessible mobility.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaría highlighted safety and reliability as top priorities. He reaffirmed the Alliance’s commitment to delivering a modern, high-capacity transit system that meets Olympic-level standards.

This next-generation transport project will reshape daily travel and regional connectivity, offering long-term benefits for South-East Queensland.
