How the Leo Express Prague–Munich service will run?

The EX36 contract, awarded by the Czech Ministry of Transport, covers operations on the international corridor until 2031. Once the service begins, the Prague–Pilsen–Munich route will offer eight daily connections over 439 kilometres with a twice-hourly frequency. According to Leo Express, its bid of 427 million CZK was the lowest submitted.

Czech and Bavarian operating roles

The tendered contract covers the Czech section of the route. After crossing the border, the connection to Munich is set to be operated in collaboration with a German transport company contracted by the state of Bavaria.

The new service will mark Leo Express’s second move into the German market. The company, a European partner of Renfe, is also preparing to launch a new commercial connection in June linking Premyśl, a Polish city near the Ukrainian border, and Kraków with Prague, several German cities — Dresen, Leipzig and Erfurt — and Frankfurt Airport, as noted by Leo Express.
