KTZ Express and Nurminen Logistics plan to launch joint container shipping services from China to Finland, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Launching container shipping from China

KTZ Express (a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Railways) and the Finnish logistics operator Nurminen Logistics Services Oy have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of container shipping, according to the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan.

The parties are agreeing on the launch of joint services for delivering containers with goods from China to Finland and along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route through the territory of Kazakhstan.

According to Deputy Minister of Transport Maksat Kaliakparov, in 2022, the volume of container cargo transportation between China and Finland via Kazakhstan amounted to 2204 TEUs.

“In 2023, 506 TEUs of consolidated cargo were transported along the TMTM route,” said the Kazakh official.

Earlier, LogiStan reported that cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route is planned to increase by 1.4 times in 2024.
