Who will have to write off more grain carriers in the next seven years?

Ukrzaliznytsia has presented a wagon renewal program for the next seven years.

One of the tools for its implementation is the establishment of a limitation of the service life of wagons by prohibiting operation. The corresponding draft order of the MIU was published on October 8 for discussion, informs Railway Supply magazine referring to urm.media.
According to the appendices to the concept for the renewal of wagons, if the draft order is approved, 18.7 thousand grain carriers will be written off in Ukraine from 2022 to 2028. 11.4 thousand of these could be written off by UZ.
Working grain carriers in the Ukrzaliznytsia fleet decreased by a third over the year
Regarding the owners of the private fleet, the most wagons would be written off by:
- Kernel-Trade – 2949 units;
- Smart Rail Logistics – 1808 units;
- BGS Rail – 489 units;
- Alfa-Bank – 385 units;
- FUIB – 349 units;
- Tegra-Logistic – 332 units;
- Ukrtranslizing – 245 units;
- Flybridge – 200 units;
- Ukrtranslogistic – 147 units;
- Invest Agro Capital – 131 units.
Note that, according to the concept of wagon renewal, to meet the market demand by 2028, it is necessary to build 31,200 gondola cars (15,300 for UZ) and 14,660 grain carriers (7300 for UZ) share).
