Knorr-Bremse signs service contract for Stadler trains in Europe

Knorr-Bremse has signed a long-term service agreement with Stadler covering technical maintenance, repair, and spare parts supply for the braking systems of trains and coaches across Europe, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The contract runs until the end of 2028 with possible extensions, aiming to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and durability of Stadler trains.

Under the agreement, Knorr-Bremse RailServices will provide tailored solutions to ensure optimal train availability throughout Europe.
In addition to service provisions, the contract includes spare parts supply for various brake system components, which Knorr-Bremse RailServices will deliver on-site through its facilities in Switzerland, Germany, and Hungary.
Over the contract duration, more than 20,000 brake caliper repairs are planned, contributing to smoother train operations and reduced material consumption.
This collaboration marks an expansion of the longstanding relationship between Knorr-Bremse and Stadler, following projects such as the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe metro equipment contract and the VDV TramTrain project.
