Aluminum bodies, which will be used to manufacture the second batch of 15 four-car trains for Istanbul’s M11 metro line, have arrived at the factory in Ankara, according to the railway journal Railway Supply, citing Rollingstock.
The first 10 trains, produced at the CRRC factory in Zhuzhou, were put into operation in January.
Under the $221.8 million contract, the company is expected to supply a total of 44 trains, with 34 of them being assembled in Turkey.

It is claimed that the localization level will reach 60%. CRRC will source components from 13 Turkish companies, including bodies, air conditioning systems, inter-car connections, seats, and passenger information systems.
The unmanned trains can accommodate 1,100 passengers and are designed to operate at a maximum speed of 120 km/h, which is said to be the highest speed for a metro system in Europe.
Over the past 10 years, CRRC has delivered more than 400 metro cars to Turkey for Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.
