Izmir to add two stations to the İZBAN rail network

Contracts have been awarded for the construction of two railway stations on the 136-kilometer İzmir suburban railway line in Turkey, bringing the total number of stations to 43, according to the railway portal Railway Supply, citing Railway Gazette.
The Lale Mahallesi station will be added between the existing Şirinyer and Kemer stations, improving access to the future 13.5 km driverless Üçyol-Buca metro line, which will integrate with İZBAN at Şirinyer when it opens in 2026.
Overhaul of AC and DC traction motors
The Katip Çelebi University station will be located between the Egekent and Ulukent stations.
The construction of the two stations will be carried out by 3 El Grup Enerji Madencilik under a contract worth TL74.3m, which includes building structures, mechanical and electrical works, including modifications to electrification and landscaping.
The project is planned to be completed within 540 days.
