The information will help engineers plan the bridge and in-charge infrastructure. And since the data enhances long-term stability and safety, it shall directly affect the ultimate alignment of Phase 2.

During this quarter, experts in the company will still analyze data gathered in the year of production. They shall update the design for the following year based on results while also satisfying all environmental requirements.

Inland Rail is currently completing its Environmental Impact Statement and in close consultation with the New South Wales Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure to put papers in front of the ministers for approval.

Inland Rail Enlarges Design Partnerships and Australian Expertise

Once the filing is final, the proposal would then head to the Australian Government under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act for further assessment. It is expecting a decision in weeks.

Inland Rail earlier engaged ArcB Design JV—consisting of Arcadis and BG&E—in design works of about 23 kilometers of alignment from Tapscott Road, Moree, to Camurra. The joint venture will begin with the section of Tapscott Road to Alice Street and then proceed with Phase 2 after environmental approval.

The whole 1,600-kilometer Inland Rail connection between Brisbane and Melbourne will link the two cities with a quicker, cleaner, and more efficient Queensland, New South Wales, and Victorian freight corridor. It enhances Australia’s transport system and is an example of cooperation between communities, engineers, and government.
