A 16 coach sleeper train version of the Vande Bharat was designed in 2024 by the engineers of the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) with the help of BEML. Yet, another milestone has been reached inasmuch as the designed train provides comfort while traveling throughout the night, taking into account ergonomic design considerations. A total of 10 trains are scheduled to be manufactured in the coming stage of production.

Vande Bharat Partnerships and Industrial Localization

There are also 53 trains being manufactured by the Titagarh Rail Systems-BHEL consortium, which is good for the Indian domestic manufacturing base.

Under the Vande Bharat Mission, India is also improving its export capabilities because Indian factories are developing into competitors on the international stage. The government is also investing, developing jobs, and increasing the quality of service with lower carbon emission levels.

According to experts, the project is transforming the railway sector’s economic model. The investment in the production of electric trains has created domestic component demands, which will be the starting point for the exportation of technology to Asian and African countries, explained the executive.

The railway transport system is about to undergo another revolution with the construction of the long-awaited Kaindudu.
