CRRC achieved a significant breakthrough by unveiling the first unmanned metro train at its factory in Turkey, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This four-car train is destined for the M11 metro line in Istanbul.

This milestone follows the delivery of the first 10 trains produced at the factory in Zhuzhou, which entered service in January 2023.

The total contract for 44 trains is valued at $221.8 million.

With a capacity of 1142 passengers, the train can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h, making it the fastest metro in Europe. Assembly of the first train took 9 months.

According to Turkey’s Minister of Transport, Abdulkadır Uraloğlu, CRRC plans to produce another 14 units this year.

Approximately 60% of the components are locally sourced, including Turkish engines (with a localization rate of 73%), batteries, bellows, bodies, seats, air conditioners, lighting systems, and more.
