In Poland, a new multimodal terminal has been launched

PKP Cargo Group officially opened the Zdunska Wola-Karsznice multimodal terminal in the Lodz Voivodeship (Poland), this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The terminal, covering an area of 13 hectares, has a handling capacity estimated at 500,000 TEU per year, with a cost exceeding 128 million zlotys.

Situated near the geographical center of Poland, at the intersection of vital transport routes, the terminal is expected to significantly expand logistics services for various industries.
Dariusz Seliga, President of PKP Cargo, emphasized that its operations would enhance the provision of comprehensive logistics services.
The innovative PKP Cargo Terminale Karsznice logistics center is equipped with intelligent systems optimizing logistics processes, including an automatic container identification system, potential damage diagnostics, and an electronic order processing system.
Located near the S8 expressway and connecting European railway routes No. 6 (Baltic-Adriatic Corridor) and No. 8 (North Sea-Baltic Corridor), the terminal will offer comprehensive container transport services on the New Silk Road, connecting it with Baltic ports and the entire Central European region.
President of PKP Cargo Terminale, Anna Jazdzyk, highlighted the range of services provided by the Zdunska Wola-Karsznice multimodal terminal, including the handling and storage of empty and loaded containers with neutral and hazardous goods, as well as the processing of trailers and swap bodies, container and tank container handling, and goods packaging and palletizing.
Additionally, the terminal will be equipped with container handling equipment such as overhead cranes and reach stackers with varying lifting capacities, 24/7 monitoring and nighttime lighting, and a pallet for collecting hazardous cargo.
